Reverberating from the first murmuration in Belgium and then the experience in the mountains of Romania, a few of us got inspired to organise a next gathering in May 2019.
We will also be joined by some of the Schumacher Research in Action Community who will be gathering just the week before in the same place. These include alumni who have taught and studied at the college like Julie Richardson , Tim Crabtree, Patricia Shaw, Michael Martin, Maria Llanos, Elisa Hornett, Lanying Zhang hopefully Jon Rae and others who also have their own projects around the world.
During these days we will discover who we are and what brings us together, whilst furthering this growing and moving village beyond the home of the Old Postern, as the spirit of Schumacher College continues to be sustained and recreated.
We will be hosted at Pepik and Fleur's place in a beautiful converted farmhouse that has been their family home for the past 10 years and also acted as midwife to the birth of many enterprises and projects in energy saving, regional development, youth protection, elderly care, biodiversity, sustainable mobility, living streets, refugee shelter.
The grounds of the farm are located in a wetland nature reserve, a much loved spot for migratory birds who by the time of our gathering will have just arrived from Africa. The sky will be imbued with mesmerising murmurations and continuous song as they are preparing to nest.
Meanwhile, our own murmuration will be taking shape through walking, talking, cooking, canoeing, meditating, dancing and dishwashing.
